UFC on ESPN: Brunson vs. Holland Results

UFC on ESPN bring us middleweight bout between UFC veteran Derek Brunson and young prospect, Kevin Holland. Also, there is a few notable names on this card such as Marion Reneau, Tai Tuivasa and Max Griffin.

On prelims, Jesse Strader missed weight but that didn't stop Montel Jackson from getting TKO win in round one.

Worth mention was Trevin Giles and Macy Chiasson wins, aswell as two knockout wins for Grant Dawson and Bruno Gustavo da Silva.

A real showman, Tai Tuivasa, opened main card with a round TKO win against Harry Hunsucker. Tuivasa improved his record to 5-3 in UFC, with this win being his second in a row while Hunsucker suffered loss in his promotional debut.

A great fight between Adrian Yanez and Gustavo Lopez that ended in third round and KO win for Yanez. Yanez improved his record to 2-0 in UFC while Lopez now fall to 1-2 in UFC.

Montserrat Ruiz won via unanimous decision win against Cheyanne Buys and successfully started her UFC career with this promotional debut win.

Co-main event between Max Griffin and Song Kenan ended in very first round. Griffin put pressure from start and was able to get a very quick win and his second straight win in a row (improving his record to 5-6 in UFC). Song Kenan falls to 4-2 in UFC but most importantly, he failed to get his 3rd consecutive win.

In main event, Derek Brunson did everything necessary for a win against Kevin Holland. From round one to round four, Brunson was able to get fight to the ground using his very good wrestling and controlling Holland on ground and earning points on scorecards. Only in fifth round, Holland was able to get takedown on his own and control Brunson but one round wasn't enough for a win. After this fight, Brunson (now 13-5 in UFC) is on a 4 win streak while Holland (now 8-3 in UFC) ended his 5 win streak with this loss. We will see who will be next opponent for Brunson, but this potentialy could be his last run for chance to get UFC gold. Holland, on the other hand, also have a good chance if he get few wins.
