Megdan held their 8th event in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia. The event was held in 'Pinki' hall and it was called Megdan 'New winners'.

The centre of this event was four man tournament in K-1 category under 81 kilograms. In semifinal bouts, Giannis Fezoulai was better against Nikola Drobnjak after split decision win while Maikel Astur was better against Srdjan Sucur after unanimous decision win.

In final of this four man tournament (this fight was also the main event), the winner and inaugural Megdan champion under 81 kilograms, was Maikel Astur. After two round of great action, Fezoulai injured his leg and he was unable to continue, therefore Maikel Astur was declared as a winner by TKO. We must add that Astur was certainly the one with an adventage and he were probably win the fight on judges scorecards.

After two semifinal bouts of a four man tournament, next fight was MMA bout in middleweight division between Mihajlo Virag and Kuitty Begaj. This fight was finished before it started literally, aftter good knee to liver by Begaj. Great win for Begaj and very fast finish, maybe if not the fastest one, one of the fastest in Megdan history.

Next up, K-1 clash between two big guys in heavyweight division, Ahmed Krnjic and Miroslav Vujovic. After three rounds of action, Ahmed Krnjic was declared as a winner by unanimous decision and it was very well deserved. He really didn't allow Vujovic to take initiative and get control of the ring, as this was key factor in this fight.

After this interesting K-1 clash, we move agains on MMA bouts, this time, it was catchweight bout between Nenad Milanov and Radovan Vukovic. Another great perfomance by Nenad Milanov, even though he wasn't really better in round one, due to a very good takedown defence by Vukovic. In second round, different story, early takedown, very fast transition to full mount and ground and pound finish for Milanov.

Aboubacar Bathilly was able to submit Ivan Vicic via Americana in MMA heavyweight clash, in round one. Bathilly got takedown and with nice set up, he got Americana and force Vicic to tap.

After Bathilly's fast finish, next bout was first of three title bout scheduled for this event. Strahinja Mitric, current Megdan K-1 heavyweight champion, is ready to defend his title against Francesko Xhaja. After very close, back and forth battle in three rounds, winner by split decision, and new K-1 Megdan heavyweight champion, was Francesko Xhaja. Immediate after fight, Xhaja confirms that this was not his best performance and he offered immediate rematch for title against Mitric.

For inaugural MMA Megdan Bantanmweight Title, we got Stipe Brcic from Croatia and Mihail Sirbu from Moldova scheduled for a 3 round fight. This was by far, one of the most action packed and interesting fight on this fight card. It's really unfortunate that this fight was finished after just one round due to swollen eye of Brcic. The whole injury with Stipe's eye, happened after break up from clinch and nice right hook by Sirbu that landed right on Stipe's left eye, and unfortunately, his eye pretty fast was closed and Stipe was unable to continue, with that meaning that first ever Megdan Bantamweight champion is Mihail Sirbu.

Main event, as we mentioned before, was a four man tournament and title fight in K-1 under 81 kilograms between Maikel Astur and Giannis Fezoulai.
