Megdan 3 - Post event analyse

Megdan 'Saveznika: Srbija vs. Rusija' ( 'Allies : Serbia vs Russia' ) was held in Spens Hall in Novi Sad, Serbia.

MMA FIGHTS:

• Grzegorz Siwy def. Marinica Bejenaru via UD. 7 takedowns, excellent clinch control from Siwy is reason for well deserved win and brutal performance.

• Nemanja Milakovic def. Aleksandar Jankovic via SUB ( guillotine choke ). Most of fight in 1st round was on ground where Milakovic was better. In 2nd round Jankovic control fight on feet and then get takedown in last 3 minutes of fight, which he controlled very well in top position. Heading into 3rd and final score was probably 1-1 and Jankovic try again takedown attempt, but Milakovic set up very good guillotine choke and get finish.

• Shota Gvasalia vs Aslan Ismailov No Contest. Very poor fight that was originally split decision win for Gvasalia but it was overturned by promoter.

• Rafael Puladov def. Marko Gucu via TKO ( punches ). Domination from Puladov from start to end of fight. First, he gets takedown, Gucu had nice omoplata attempt but Puladov with good GNP destroyes Gucu. In between rounds Gucu's corner stopped fight and that was win Puladov.

K-1 FIGHTS:

• Viktor Vasic def. Danila Satalov via decision. In all three round Vasic had initiative and landed more punches and good combinations then opponent. Well deserved win for Vasic, who become first Megdan K-1 HW champion.

• Nikola Todorovic def. Surik Magakyan via decision. Initiative through the whole fight for Todorovic, very good combinations and movement from him. This was title fight in which Todorovic become first Megdan K-1 champion under 75kg.

• Denis Marjanovic def. Alexander Shulyak via decision. Very close fight in first two rounds, where both have one round in their hands. Heading into 3rd and final round, score was probably 1-1 in rounds and that obviously, motivated Marjanovic to be way better than his opponent in third. Well deserved win for Marjanovic.

MMA FIGHT:

• Aleksandar Ilic def. Alexander Sukhov via TKO ( punches ). Very fast finish, liver punch from Ilic determine the outcome of fight. This was first title defense for Ilic ( he is current Megdan MW champion ).

K-1 FIGHT:

• Cedo Pantic def. Novak Radulovic via decision. Pantic was aggressive, had more initiative with a lot of flying knees and good combinations that secures him win. This was title fight in which Pantic become first Megdan K-1 champion under 71kg.

MMA FIGHTS:

• Samat Emilbekov def. Ivan Sakic via SUB ( armbar ). Emilbekov got full mount after takedown and good GNP force judge to stop fight. Sakic protest to judge, Emilbekov says that he wants to continue fight. After that short brake, they continue fight, Emilbekov again gets full mount position after takedown and set up very good armbar that force Sakic to tap.

• Vaso Bakocevic def. Jivko Stoimenov TKO ( retirement, leg injury Stoimenov ). Bakocevic controlled fight for two rounds after Stoimenov was forced to retire from fight because of leg injury.

MAIN EVENT

• Milos Janicic def. Marko Radakovic via KO ( pucnhes ). In 1st round Janicic gets takedown, he also had few good attempts of submissions. Radakovic, eventually manage to stand up and control fight until end of round. Still, better in this round was Janicic. In 2nd round Radakovic gets takedown and evne have very good submission attempt, but then they get back to the feet and Janicic had clinch control. Radakovic again control fight on feet and score another takedown but Janicic had some serious attempts of kimura, heelhook and kneebar in late second of round 2. In 3rd round, Radakovic control fight while Janicic doing well counterpunching. Radakovic goes to clinch, try for a takedown but excellent scramble. They are on feet, Janicic pressuring, land some excellent hooks to the head. Radakovic looked like he out of gas, he couldn't hold his guard anymore, Janicic land few more punches and gets finish.
