Bellator 207 : Mitrione vs Bader - Post Event Analyse

Main Card

• Mandel Nallo def. Carrington Banks via KO. In first round Nallo set-up one very good choke but Banks was able to escape. Then, Banks gets a takedown and he had ground control until end of round. After minute of second round Nallo throw knee to the Banks's head and finish him viciously. This was 7 pro carrer win for Nallo ( his 2nd in Bellator ) while Banks suffers his 2nd loss in a row.

• Corey Browning def. Kevin Ferguson Jr. via TKO. In first three minutes of round one Ferguson Jr. ( also known as Baby Slice ) had control. Browning was able to get position and chance for work in last 2 minutes and he used that for strong finish of round with some nasty elbows. Start of second round was good for Browning, he dropped Baby Slice on ground but didn't finish him. After that, Baby Slice got top position and even try to finish fight with solid GNP. That didn't work so he try arm triangle choke but Browning escape. Slice try to finish Browning with rear-naked choke but Browning defend and get top position, that was enough for finish with GNP over Slice who looked out of gas. This was debut win in Bellator for Corey Browning and it was good one. Kevin Ferguson Jr. after 3 win streak suffer his second carrer loss.

• Lorenz Larkin def. Ion Pascu via UD. In first round Larkin had control with kicks and punches while Pascu initiate clinch two times and try to takedown Larkin. In second round Larkin had initiative with kicks and punches while Pascu again had few attempts for takedown. In third Larkin continue to have control on the feet but Pascu was able to get takedown and work on ground for about 2 minutes and at the end of fight he try to submit Larkin with heelhook but unsuccessfully. Well deserved win for Larkin. This was Welterweight World Grand Prix alternate fight.

• Sergei Kharitonov def. Roy Nelson via KO. At the start of fight Kharitonov hit Nelson with illegal knee that hurt Nelson, which was reason for one point deduction for Kharitonov. After that we saw excellent fight , they both swinging. On minute and half before end of round Kharitonov starting to hit knees and uppercuts on Nelson head while Nelson trying to counterpunch. In last ten seconds of round Kharitonov hit few big uppercuts and finish Nelson with knee.

Main Event

• Ryan Bader def. Matt Mitrione via UD. This was Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix semifinal fight. In first round Bader dominates Mitrione with excellent control on ground and very good GNP, he also had 3 takedowns. Second round was again complete dominance from Bader. He had control on ground, nice GNP, even one very good attempt of kimura ( Mitrione almost tap ) which he didn't materialize. Third round wasn't any different from the first two. Domination on ground by Bader. Well deserved win for Bader and he is also advance in Grand Prix final waiting for winner of Fedor/Sonnen fight.
