Bellator 201 : Macfarlane vs Lara - Post Event Analyse

Main Card

• Juan Archuleta defeat Robbie Peralta ( former UFC fighter ) after dominate him in two rounds. At the start of third round Archuleta hit Peralta with excellent right overhand and finish him for his second win in his second fight in Bellator.

• Valerie Letourneau defeat Kristina Williams via unanimous decision. First round was complete domination from Letourneau after she managed to knockdown Williams with right hook and then did very god job on the ground and had control to the end of round. In second round Williams was able to win battle on stand-up and secure adventage in second round. Going 1-1 in round three Williams had excellent first minute but she allowed Letourneau to takedown her. After that Letourneau had solid work on the ground and that was enough to secure win in this fight.

Co-Main Event

• Saad Awad defeat Ryan Couture after he counter one leg kick by Couture and then finish fight with so much punches that make Ryan to fall.

Main Event

• In main event first ever Bellator Women Flyweight Champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane defeated Alejandra Lara with armbar in the third round of fight. In all three round we saw fight in clinch and on the ground. In first Macfarlane had one very good triangle choke but Lara managed to escape and even make some chances for her at the end of round. In second round Macfarlane was able to make another takedown but she now managed to control situation on ground very well. In third round Macfarlane was able to set-up excellent armbar but Lara managed to roll into position that her arm is not in danger. After all, Lara try to roll and pull arm from lock but she didn't do that as she want and tap, securing first title defense for Ilima-Lei Macfarlane. Next challenger for the title will probably be Valerie Letourneau who defeated Kristina Williams earlier on this event.
