PFL 3 Results - 2021 Season

This is third and final event of round number one in this PFL Regular Season. Last night, we saw in action fighters in woman's lightweight division and men's heavyweight division. Last season lightweight finalist Larissa Pacheco and Kayla Harrison fought on main card alongside former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum.

In first fight of the night, we saw welterweights in action. Magomed Umalatov won by second round TKO against Kyron Bowen and he surely show that he could potentially be in roster next season. This was PFL's 'Showcase' fight where fighters try to impress PFL bosses and matchmakers and earn a chance to participate in next season.

Taylor Guardado in first fight of the LW season controlled very well fight on ground and earn a well deserved victory after three rounds of fighting.

Denis Goltsov starting this season in a dominant fashion against late replacement Muhammed DeReese via TKO win in round one and huge 6 points in standings after Regular Season Round 1. Goltsov was originally scheduled to fight Justin Willis but Willis wasn't medicaly cleared to fight.

Genah Fabian and Kaitlin Young won their first fight of the season very convincigly and both fighters earned 3 points in standings.

Huge favourite coming into this fight, Ante Delija dissapoint all his fans after quick KO loss against Bruno Cappelozza in round number one. Cappelozza slept Delija on feet and earn huge 6 points that will boost his chance to fight in this season PFL Playoffs.

Moving onto main card where we had two LW and two HW fights.

Larissa Pacheco, last season finalist, demolished newcomer Julija Pajic in less than a minute. To be honest, this was quite mismathc, due to huge experience on Pacheco's side (note that Pajic have only 3 pro fights) but still very dominant win and showing to other possible contenders who will be this season biggest danger for current champ, Kayla Harrison.

US Marine, Brandon Sayles earned a huge victory against Mohammed Usman (brother of current UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru) in maybe the most interesting fight of the whole card. Sayles put on sleep Usman via rear-naked choke in madness finish in round two and earn a big 5 points to his name. This was first Sayles fight after three years and what a performance from him.

In co-main event, Kayla Harrison, last season PFL Champion, made a quick work of Mariana Morais and earn 6 points.

Main event finished in first round via TKO victory for Renan Ferreira but it have some controversy moments. To explain a little bit more, Werdum at one point had locked up guillotine choke and on the footage it looks like Ferreira tapped but then he immediately continue to land punches and eventually finish Werdum for huge 6 points. From what we understand, Werdum and his team will appeal to the New Jersey State Athletic Comission. It remain to see what decision will be made and how it will impact PFL Heavyweight Standings.
